Chapter 6 Response

According to the book, more teaching and learning tasks have been enhanced through the usage of digital equipment.  I would prefer to teach in a classroom that has more digital technologies because it would allow me to have supplements for my students and make learning more portable and interactive. Scanners, an input device, would be extremely useful when modifying printed materials, such as tests and written speeches, because scanners turn the paper into digital documents that can be altered for present and future uses. Digital cameras capture student presentations, guest speakers, special events or students' work that can be used for learning in the future as a visual resource. Data projectors, an output device, allow teachers to show large classes documents and websites shown on the computer's monitor, which can be used during lessons. Emerging technologies, such as handhelds and portable storage devices, allow teachers to carry large files in a mobile manner and allows students to take essays and PowerPoints home safely to finish or show their guardians. Clickers are great resources to access students informally and get the results back in a swift manner in the form of charts. Having technology in my classroom will allow my students to have different resources within the classroom to enhance learning.
